I decided to choose Futura for my brand as the concept and personality of the typeface fuse together well, the geometric font is suited to the logo I want to create in a geometric pattern of letters using a grid. The website I want to create encapsulates the idea of a modern way of collaborating with other artists online, a 'calibration' of ideas as you can communicate with those who are interested in the same topic, aligning ideas and concepts.
Here are example of where Futura has been used for logos for brands as well as movie posters.
Wes Anderson
Wes Anderson's movie posters (featured directly above) use slight variations of the Futura font and have been manipulated in order to suit the context. With these minor changes you can see Futura can be a versatile font thanks to it's geometric simplicity. He uses bold bright colours contrasting the backgrounds which I admire and draw inspiration from throughout all his films as well, the colour palettes are expertly selected in order to enhance a specific mood. I want to ensure my logo is visible and as striking as these film logos, I shall experiment with colours that will blend well with different equally colourful backgrounds.
