Lazy Gear: T-shirt collab

One of the people I'm collaborating with is Amin, he's designed the T-shirt that I'm in the process of printing, these were the designs he initially sent me that I was to choose from:

I liked what I initially thought was the intentional incorporation of the musical instrument in the skeletal like character design (similar to the Lazy Gear logo) thinking the thought process was focused on how music has the potential to open people's minds and accompany a sense of welcoming however this was not Amin's intention but I like the way it can be interpreted in this way or seemingly other ways by the viewer.

I also liked the contradictory elements in the gun design, the gun representative of something capable of literally blowing someones head off is a play on the theme of 'open-mindedness'. I felt the gun design however didn't immediately visually link with the concept, so I asked him to change this to say something about open-mindedness, I suggested "Don't blow your top off/ Open your mind." So he changed the design so the text on the gun says 'Open your mind'. Adding 'Don't blow your top off' as well would've been overkill, the text would've had to have been shrunk so it was less impactful and the finer text may not have worked on the screen as some of the details are at the finer side of what's possible to textile screen print, especially the detail on the handle.
